Oatmeal. ✊🏼 The breakfast staple that is yummy, versatile, and healthy. Every week on Move with Bri, I share new Yoga flows, Meditations and Workouts but today I shared a special β€œBake with Me” Vlog. Join me and my friend Julia in our bright and homey Northern California kitchen to make Strawberry Banana Baked Oatmeal!

Julia and I are both self proclaimed perfectionists, and recognize that that sometimes leads to stress, and sometimes leads to beautifully nailed detail. πŸ˜‚

Follow along with us as we use a loose way of measuring to embrace the flow and spaciousness that is found in imperfection. We hope you are inspired to be more playful in your own approach in creating whatever your heart desires to create!!

S U B S C R I B E to Move with Bri! 😘

I love pretty breakfast. I prepare these oats the night before and they are ugly. During the night, the fridge and chia seeds do magic (aka chemistry) to transform the ingredients into nourishing and beautiful cold oats. Here is my recipe and transformation pics below. Enjoy!

Oatmeal Ingredients:

  • Banana
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • Cacao nibs for crunch (optional)
  • Sprinkle of spices – I used cayene, pepper, cardamom and nutmeg
  • Any milk or coconut water

Toppers:

The night before, mash the banana ‘real good’ with a fork. Add the rest of the dry ingredients, mashing as you go. Cover the paste with your liquid (milk or coconut water) and incorporate with a fork. It should be a little sloshy when you move the bowl. The chia will thicken it overnight.

Put it in the fridge covered while you sleep.

Wake up.

Top it!

Eat and glow. Drink water too. And probably coffee…

Here is my before and after.

Water is vital to our health and happiness. But it can be so hard to properly hydrate. I make these posts based on what I need to hear myself. πŸ™ˆ These tips help me keep water in my body and energy rocking all day long.

1) Invest in a water bottle you like! Aesthetics are important to me. I’m more excited to use and take my water bottle with me when I like the one I’m carrying. Find one that fits your style. Maybe fill it with stickers that are meaningful. They’re like water bottle tattoos. πŸ–– Here are a few nice bottles to check out.

2) Flavor your water! It takes a bit of (easy) prep work, but it is so worth the effort. Cut up some colorful and juicy fruits like watermelon, peach, strawberries, etc. Put them in pitcher with water and any herbs you like (Rosemary, basil, mint). If you fill a big pitcher, it’ll last you all day. And anytime you need to refill you’re water bottle, it’ll be more tempting.

3) Download an app to remind you to water yourself. Many apps will send you a notification reminder, as well as let you track how much water you’ve had. Find one you like in your app store! Here is a recommendation.

Hydration App – Water Drink Reminder

4) Start your day with water – Drink two glasses of water before you eat breakfast. Try it and see what happens. Starting positive might set the pace for staying hydrated all day. And if nothing else, you got 16+ ounces in in the morning. πŸ’

If you’re looking to add more water into your life try these tips. Pay attention to how it makes you feel. πŸ™‚ Let me know in the comments below what else you do to stay hydrated. Happy water drinking!

Love,

Bri
